Privacy policy
Last updated 30 July 2026.
This policy explains how Mendit Ltd, trading as Mendit, collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, contact us or discuss a potential project. Mendit is the data controller for the information described here.
Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address, telephone number and communication preferences;
- the address, type and ownership context of a property;
- project requirements, budgets, preferred dates, plans, photographs and other files you provide;
- correspondence, meeting notes, estimates and records of our relationship with you;
- booking details submitted through the Rave CRM calendar; and
- technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, request time and website activity.
We normally obtain this information directly from you. We may also receive it from someone acting for you, from an appointed professional or contractor, from public planning and property records, or from the technology providers used to operate this website.
How and why we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and arrange calls, meetings or site visits;
- understand a proposed project and decide whether Mendit is able to assist;
- prepare estimates, proposals, appointments and project information;
- deliver and administer agreed work, including communication with the project team;
- maintain financial, insurance, warranty, health-and-safety and business records;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- protect, diagnose and improve the website and our systems; and
- measure aggregated website use where you have accepted analytics.
Our lawful bases
The lawful basis depends on the purpose. We may process information to take steps at your request before entering a contract or to perform a contract; to comply with a legal obligation; for our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, managing projects, keeping appropriate records and protecting the business; or with your consent, including for optional analytics. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider their necessity and their effect on your rights.
Who we share information with
Information may be processed by providers of website hosting, analytics, email, file storage, scheduling, customer relationship management, IT support and professional advice. The booking calendar is provided by Rave CRM and information entered there is processed through its service. If a project progresses, we may share relevant information with the client, property owner, architect, designer, engineer, surveyor, specialist contractor, supplier, insurer, accountant, legal adviser, regulator or public authority where necessary.
Providers acting for us are permitted to use personal information only for the relevant service and subject to appropriate obligations. We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some technology providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards, we use an approved transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or contractual protections, and any additional measures appropriate to the transfer.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected. In deciding the period, we consider whether an enquiry remains active, the duration and nature of a project, and applicable contract, limitation, insurance, tax, warranty and health-and-safety requirements. Information is then deleted, anonymised or securely archived as appropriate.
Security
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No internet service is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you the right to be informed and to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal information. You may object to some processing and may withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. These rights can be subject to legal limits and exemptions.
To exercise a right or raise a concern, email info@menditltd.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, although we would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Children
This website and Mendit’s services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
